I wanted the year to start off "my way". I had a goal to be " completely perfect" in my walk with God. And I slip right and started making so many "mistakes" such as skipping quiet time and prayer times procrastination!

John 15:1-2 (NKJV) I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bearmore fruit.

I had to look at it from another perspective and choose to believe that those mistakes was actually God working on me. Every Christian needs to go through the pruning season with God. A season we cannot avoid or underestimate! He's the gardener, and we are the vine. God cuts off every branch in us that bears no fruit. (John 15:1) Not only does he prune, but exposes it to us for us to deal with it in accordance to His Word.

Revelations 3:19 (NKJV) Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.

The devil has his way of making us dwell on our wrongs. However, we need not to conform to the language and concepts of the world. The devil controls the world and implements his concepts and perceptions. Therefore, what the devil identifies as "mistakes" are sins and the Bible tells us:

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The word mistake is not found in the Bible but only in three books (Matthew 22:29, Mark 12:24, Mark 12:27). The bible states mistaken and according to the greek dictionary, that means to be wrong or incorrect based on an assumption. Woman of God, Jesus died for all our sins and today we are forgiven for every action that doesn't glorify Him. Hence, we cannot allow the devil to make us dwell on mistakes when the Bible also tells us:

Isaiah 43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

God working on all of us and bringing out another part of us that reflects Him. He's creating a new heart where that will set us apart in this world. He's sharping your thoughts and placing a strong desire and passion to do His work differently from how you started or how you are about to.
